October 31, Sunday  ~ A New Week

Sunday Morning Fellowship
Rev. Ross Tracey shares to close out Parent’s Weekend
“It’s a Privilege”

It’s a privilege:
1 – to be a parent
2 – to be a parent of a Way College Division student or a Way Corps volunteer
Those 2 privileges are accomplishments.

The greatest privilege is:
to be a Power for Abundant Living graduate; it’s a life-changing privilege.

Ross is starting to share “his story” about PFAL.
Matthew 6:33
Ross realized that he had to make a decision: Is it the Word of God or should he continue to go along with men? Then he endeavored to make the way of men the Word of God.
Why did he change? Because of the accuracy of God’s Word.
Ross to parents: “Go all the way. Take a look at a class, Power for Abundant Living….Don’t go half way; look at it thoroughly.”

This morning as Ross shared I thought of the verses going through my mind:
Romans 15:13 – “Abound in hope through the power of God”
Romans 15:19 – “Make obedient by word and deed, mighty signs and wonders by the power of holy spirit.”
Those verses in light on Matthew 6:33, Acts 26:18, II Timothy 3:16, Ephesians 2, Romans 6:16-23

My theme this week: It’s a privilege, PFAL. God moves the Word over the world.

This past week I didn’t write very much because I had such negative thoughts and I went through and dealt with many changes. What were the highlights of the week? How do I highlight a week in the Way Corps?

Monday I worked all day and then had class Monday night. Pat Lynn taught on “Complete in Him,” “The Broken Body and the Shed Blood,” and “God Rescued Us.” Then the 13th Corps got together in Twigs and each person shared their story.

Tuesday was Body, Soul, and Spirit Day for our Unit. We didn’t work all day. Tuesday night was the closing of the PFAL Class. John Lynn taught.

Doctor arrived Wednesday. The other Unit (Unit 1) had Body, Soul, and Spirit Day in Branches. Wednesday night was Corps night and Walter taught I Corinthians 3.

I think Wednesday was the day I felt “crawled over” with sin and ugliness and worthlessness. The accuser! If someone just looked at me wrong, I would crumble. Then David B. shared about that very thing.

The adversary starts pointing fingers at my worthlessness. Of myself I am worthless, totally. I am. Adam sinned and I got it. Of myself, all my works are worthless and dung. Of myself, I am a total asshole.

I’m like a “roach hill” crawling with scum and roaches and rats, dirt and filth and slime. I’m like the ally ways of city ghettos with trash and piss and litter ankle high. Open garbage cans with rabid rats abide in dark corners. And you never know what will come from an abandoned building – a rapist ready to rape and screw and bite and slobber all over my body.  And helplessly I allow it to happen and loathsomely begin to engage and enjoy it.

Dirt, scum, filth, slime. That’s what the adversary points at. And he’s right, about my flesh and my old man nature. But that is his work and he can have it, if he can raise it from the dead. And he’ll point at it and I allow it to a point where I realize that he’s after the Word.

He’s right when he points at it; that is what I am, except that it is not me anymore. I of myself am worthless, but with the work of my dear Lord I am as righteous and as bright as God. The energy in me outshines the sun.

Sunday Night Service, Reformation Sunday
John Lynn teaches:

In 3:1 the word “perilous” is the same Greek word as “fierce” in Matthew 8:28.

Romans 1:1-6
John is going through Romans 1:1-6 and got into the resurrection and speaking in tongues. Speaking in tongues is the witness in myself that Jesus Christ GOT UP!! It is the only evidence of my righteousness that will stand in a court when the devil accuses me. Hear-say won’t stand in a court of law. This is what I’ve been working lately.

Romans 1:15-25
Verse 20: The beauty of nature, etc., is God’s advertisement for people to get hungry and desire to know the creator of the magnificent beauty. If that is God’s way to get people hungry, what is our way and how do we advertise for God? Manifestations. Which I can only do if I recognize God’s grace.

Romans 3:19-26
The law showed them they needed a Savior.

Romans 5:1-21
My heart thrills at all this!!!! In it lies the power of God and the courage to operate that power!!
Psalm 49:6-9
I Peter 1:18-21
I Corinthians 6:19-20

Romans 8:1-4, II Corinthians 5:17 – 6:1
